Taking the lead from their hugely successful Bucas Buzz Off Zebra range, the company have developed a fabric with the synonymous Bucas Zebra stripe that prevents the tinier biting mites, culicoides midge population, from getting to the horse. Prevention is the key to the sweet itch problem so ensuring the horse is covered before the midge biting season prevails will help this miserable syndrome.
The first of its kind, this sweet itch/fly rug with zebra-like stripes prevents equines being bitten by the offending small biting flies and repels the bigger, aggressive horse flies by the confusing zebra stripe proven by scientists to keep them away.
This unique Sweet-Itch Zebra Rug is made from a specially developed fabric that blocks entry from even the smallest of insects. Particular attention has been paid to the mane and tail areas ensuring that they are protected to prevent the itch ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚àÇ‚Äö√†√∂‚àö√´‚Äö√†√∂¬¨¬Æ scratch cycle that is synonymous with Sweet Itch.
The design is a full body cover, with a neck that reaches to the ears covering the whole mane area. An elasticated, detachable belly flap covers from the elbow to the sheath, offering protection to the horse‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚àÇ‚Äö√†√∂‚àö√´‚Äö√†√∂¬¨‚Ä¢s whole body. Shoulder darts enable freedom of movement and a generous tail flap covers this hugely problematic area, preventing the small biting flies reaching the tail. Leg straps keep it firmly in place during your horse‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚àÇ‚Äö√†√∂‚àö√´‚Äö√†√∂¬¨‚Ä¢s time in the field, and an overlapping, padded and lined front ensures it stays comfortable no matter how long your horse needs to wear it.
Bucas Sweet-Itch Zebra also offers UV protection for horses preventing sunburn and stopping the coat from getting bleached.
For smaller parcels we use Royal Mail first class recorded and for larger parcels we use APC Couriers. Both services are based on a 48hour weekday delivery time for mainland UK addresses. If we receive your order by 1pm (Monday-Friday) we will dispatch the item that day. Exceptions - our couriers follow the English & Scottish Bank holiday dates, so deliveries and collections cannot be made over those dates. Due to the Corona Pandemic, our postage times will vary. If you place an order with us online, we will contact you to arrange delivery.
For International postage, we currently use royal mail small parcels, tracked/signed.
At this time, we are unable to dispatch items on Saturdays and Sundays.
For the security of your parcel, items cannot be left with neighbours or in a safe place. We accept that this may be inconvenient for some customers, but we believe this ensures YOU receive your' parcel and not someone else! If you need your item to be delivered to an address where you are able to accept it, please include this in the delivery option. Items must be sent back to us unused, in their original packaging and with all labels attached within 28 days of receipt. Please use a signed for service via a reputable courier, such as Royal Mail for smaller items and courier for larger item with adequate insurance to cover the value of the item. We cannot be held accountable, and therefore cannot offer a refund/exchange, if we do not receive the item.
To facilitate a speedy refund, please complete our RETURNS FORM, which should be included with your parcel. You are liable for all postage costs and these will not be refunded as part of the return. Refunds may take up to 7 days to be processed.
Christmas returns policy - We’ve extended our usual return time limit just for the festive season. Any item bought between 1 November and 24 December can be returned up until Monday 18 January.
